What the format covers

  • Room-wise sections

Each row names the room or area it belongs to, so totals can be read per room.

  • Internal and client rates

Keep your cost rate and the rate you charge side by side in separate columns.

  • Calculated amounts and margin

Amount and margin columns are formulas, so they update when you edit a quantity or rate.

  • Procurement column

Mark each line as a material, an assembled item, a service or an item excluded from ordering.

How to use the sheet

Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets. Replace the sample rows with your own items, one row per line item, and add a row for every item in every room.

  • Fill in the section (room), item name, unit and quantity from your site survey.
  • Enter your own cost rate and the rate you will charge the client.
  • Check that the formula columns still point at the right cells after you insert or delete rows.
  • Keep a copy of each version you send, with the date, so changes can be compared later.

Sample figures are illustrative

The rates, quantities and items in the file are examples to show how the columns work. They are not market rates. Replace them with measured quantities and current supplier quotes.

Using the same columns in DecorFlow

The columns follow the layout DecorFlow uses when it exports a BOQ to a spreadsheet. DecorFlow's BOQ editor can import a CSV with these headings, reads the formula columns as calculated, and shows a message for any row it could not read. Check the result of an import before you rely on it.

Common questions

Can I use this BOQ template in Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. It is a plain CSV file, so both open it. Save your edited copy as a normal spreadsheet if you want to keep formatting.

Why are there two rate columns?

One column holds what the work costs you and the other holds what you charge. Keeping both lets you see your margin per line before you send a quotation.

Is this BOQ ready to send to a client?

No. Share a version with only the client-facing columns, after you have checked quantities, specifications and exclusions.
