Each stage names the evidence that the work is done, like photos, signed approvals or a delivery challan.
Amounts and GST by formula
Base amount, GST and total are calculated from the contract value, so changing one number updates the rest.
A total row
The last row sums the stages, so you can confirm they add up to the full contract.

The file shows five stages, an example contract value and a GST rate to demonstrate the layout. The percentages and rate are illustrative only. Set stages and shares to match your agreement, and confirm the GST treatment with your accountant.
How to adapt it
Edit the contract value and the share of each stage first, then rewrite the trigger and the check for your own work.
- Make sure the shares add up to 100%.
- Describe each trigger so both sides can tell when it has happened.
- Review each amount against the signed agreement before you issue an invoice.
- Have a legal advisor review how late payments and paused work are handled.

How many payment stages should a project have?
There is no standard number. Choose stages that match your delivery plan and what you can verify, and agree them in the contract.
Should payments be linked to dates or to work done?
Linking them to work you can verify, such as an approval or a delivery, is easier to defend than a date alone. Many studios use both.
Does this template include legal terms?
No. It is a payment planning sheet, not a contract. Have a legal advisor draft or review the agreement.
